Another great place is the Nine-Mile Country Forest Recreation Area.
- One of the best views in Wausau – especially in the fall – is at the top of the Granite Peak Ski Area. In the fall, they offer scenic chairlift rides to the top for those picture-perfect views.
- At the top of Granite Peak Ski Area, take the opportunity to meander around Rib Mountain State Park. There’s a great observation tower here, offering even more impressive views of the fall colors in Wisconsin.
- Biking is also a great way to see Wisconsin in the fall. Bring or rent a bike, and enjoy the miles of trails along the Mountain-Bay State Trail.
